Doge's Palace and St Mark's Basilica Tickets

The Doge's Palace and St Mark's Basilica sell separate tickets. What the combined tickets and tours include, option by option, the Basilica's 20-minute limit and the prices.

Updated November 2026

The Doge’s Palace and St Mark’s Basilica are next door to each other but sell separate tickets: MUVE sells the palace, 35 EUR standard (at the ticket office, or online within 30 days of the visit) or 30 EUR online at least 30 days ahead, and the Procuratoria di San Marco sells the Basilica, whose published tariff (October 2025) lists 10 EUR for a private visitor. A combined product books both and puts a guide between them. In the calendar below is Crown Tours’ Doge’s Palace & St. Mark’s Basilica Tickets + Tour Options, from $59 (checked November 2026); check the option you pick, because its cheapest one leaves the Basilica out.

Every option includes reserved entry to the Doge’s Palace, and with it free entry to the Museo Correr, the National Archaeological Museum and the Marciana rooms, which you visit on your own. Options with the Basilica also come with entry to a few churches elsewhere in Venice, such as the Basilica on Torcello and the sacristy of the Salute, again without a guide. Time in the Basilica is limited to 20 minutes, the bell tower visit to up to 30 minutes at the top, and the terrace and the bell tower are included only when the option’s title names them. Tours run in English plus a second language, the audio guides come on the Crown Tours app (about 500 MB, so download it before you go and bring headphones), and shorts, short skirts, sleeveless shirts, backpacks and large bags are not allowed.

The order depends on the option. The Basilica tour with the audio-guided palace starts in the Basilica; for the guided options the itinerary lists the palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the New Prisons first and the Basilica last, and reviewers describe both orders, so take the order on the day as it comes.

Two buildings, two sets of rules

The palace’s rules are MUVE’s: in by the Porta del Frumento, out by the Porta della Carta, no bag whose three sides add up to more than 1 metre, and a free cloakroom for medium bags, backpacks and umbrellas. The Basilica is the Procuratoria di San Marco’s, and its published tariff (October 2025) shows two columns: 10 EUR for a private visitor, 12 EUR for tour operators and guides, with the Pala d’Oro or the museum extra, 30 EUR for the complete ticket (36 EUR for operators) and 15 EUR for the bell tower (18 EUR). That second column is why the tours quote 12 EUR for the Basilica. Children under 10 go in free, the tickets carry the visitor’s name, and any ticket that includes the Basilica also opens a list of other churches for six months (Procuratoria di San Marco, published tariff of October 2025; check the price in its ticket shop when you book).

Dress and bags are stricter at the Basilica than at the palace. stmarksbasilica.tours covers the Basilica’s dress code, bag rules and ID check in detail.

From prices (checked November 2026); treat them as the shape of the market, not a quote. Crown Tours’ 2-hour option read US$99.20 on every date read; Walks In Europe’s tour read US$143.79 on 27 November and US$110.35 on 20 January.

Bucintoro Viaggi’s tour switches to the Church of San Zaccaria and its crypt, or the Museo Correr, if the Basilica closes at short notice, and its guests may stay on in the palace after the tour. Walks In Europe’s tickets are timed and expire within 5 to 10 minutes, and its 2:00 PM tour finishes after the Correr has closed, so its Correr ticket is for the next day.
